The Ma’ayanot drama club, in conjunction with Black Box Studios, recently presented a daytime dress rehearsal and two evening performances open to the public, of the intense drama The Grapes of Wrath. The production was directed by Mr. Matt Okin, student directed by Ma’ayanot senior Naima Hirsch. and featured a cast of 21 students of all grade levels. Set during the Great Depression, the play focuses on a a poor family of farmers driven from their home by drought and economic hardship. Students were involved in all aspects of production, from acting and set design to PR and ticket sales.
