Ma’ayanot ninth graders began their introduction to biology with an emphasis on precision and accurate measurement, experimenting with various lab instruments, including beakers, graduated cylinders, rulers and meter sticks. Beyond learning the mechanics of using lab tools, the girls were introduced to how these tools connect to the broader scientific method. Whether they are measuring liquids or weighing materials, students began to see how observations, measurements and data collection are fundamental to conducting experiments and testing hypotheses. Freshman are now well prepared for the scientific challenges and discoveries that lie ahead and are looking forward to the many experiments they will perform this year.
