To Ma’ayanot students, color war is an exciting two-day break from formal classes; to Ma’ayanot’s student activities directors, color war presents an exciting opportunity to explore topics that are best learned experientially, rather than through text or even discussion. Color War 2016’s theme was “leadership,” a topic particularly germane during this presidential primary season. Students were assigned to one of three teams, with each examining one of three models of religious leadership in the Tanakh: shoftim, nevi’im and melachim. Teams explored these models through videos, divrei Torah, cheers, songs, banners, projects and more.
