Accompanied by Ma’ayanot alumna Rena Kleiner ‘14, eight Ma’ayanot students, Tehila Azar ‘17, Shana Adler ‘16, Racheli Blech ‘16, Miri Cohen ‘18, Eliana Wagner ‘18, Liat Silver ‘18, Shira Gelb ‘17 and Naomi Sanft ‘17, participated in Yeshiva University’s lobbying mission to Washington, D.C. last week. The mission was partially planned by alumna Racheli Weil ‘13. While in Washington, the group met with Mr. David McFarland, advisor to Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), to speak about the current volatile situation in Israel, the dangers of incitement by Palestinian leaders and the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement. Ms. Sarah Gordon, faculty advisor to MIPAC (Ma’ayanot Israel Political Action Committee), ran an advocacy training session for the students the day before their trip.
