Ma’ayanot’s second JOWMA event, students had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Aviva Berkowitz, a radiation oncologist. Dr. Berkowitz offered an in-depth perspective on her field, educating the students on the critical role of a radiation oncologist and the collaborative efforts of other professionals that manage cancer treatment. She guided attendees through the intricate steps a patient undergoes during treatment, sharing images from real-life cases and demonstrating her approach to patient care. Dr. Berkowitz shared how impressed she was by the thoughtful questions that the students posed.
