Ma’ayanot Students Reflect on Values at Inspiring Mishmar Session

This past week, Ma’ayanot hosted a thought-provoking Mishmar session led by senior Chaya Freundlich, titled “Time Flies: A Torah Perspective.” In a dynamic and interactive presentation, Chaya encouraged her peers to reflect on their personal growth by identifying their top five core values and evaluating what they had done in the past month to deepen their connection to those ideals.

Using this reflection as a springboard, Chaya guided students into the themes of Sefirat HaOmer and the importance of “making your days count” as part of the journey toward reaching one’s full spiritual potential. Reading through Rabbi Dessler’s essay on Shavuot that focuses on the two sets of Luchot which were placed in the Aron, she emphasized the text of Hashem’s directive to Moshe to carve the second set of luchot “like the first.” Connecting this to their own lives, Chaya emphasized the importance of always keeping one’s ideals and ultimate goals in sight, even through setbacks.

The session was both meaningful and motivational, leaving students inspired to approach the remainder of the Omer (and hopefully beyond) with renewed purpose and clarity.
