Last week the Ma’ayanot volleyball B team played against Bruriah in a doubleheader. In the first match of Game 1, the score was 25-16 with excellent play from seniors Tili Tsour, and Tamar Dubin. The second match of Game 1, Ma’ayanot won 25-14.
Game 2 of the night proved to be quite a nail-biter. For the first match, the crowd watched with their breath held as the volleys went back and forth. Captain Tamar Dubin had the pressure on with the score, but prevailed with three huge serves. Bruriah used a time out to pump up the team. The score was close, but it was Bruriah’s serve. Luckily the Rapids got a second chance to pull ahead with the help of senior Corine Dahan’s winning serve. Final score 29-27.
The second match offered similar suspense. Volleys and points were going back and forth. Excellent play from senior Dani Wind, at the net with Tsour brought in some much needed points for the Rapids. Many solid consistent serves from junior Aderet Brenner and senior Yakira Escott clinched the win and gave the team their 5th win of the season. Final score 26-24.
