Mark Schwartz, Karen Orgen and Chondra Young Host Teaneck Community Brunch

On Sunday, Oct. 13, Teaneck residents from all walks of life came together at the Golden Grill Diner for a community brunch that celebrated diversity and unity. Hosted by council candidates Mark Schwartz, Karen Orgen and Chondra Young, the event was part of the ongoing Real Experience, Real Results and Teaneck, It’s About You campaigns.

The brunch featured a classic American menu, including eggs, grits, toast, potatoes, bagels, muffins, and kosher options. Residents gathered in a spirit of camaraderie, sharing food, conversations and a collective vision for a stronger, more unified Teaneck.

“Today is a reminder that we are more alike than different,” said Schwartz. “It’s about economic growth, safety and the quality of life for every resident. We’ve maintained eight years without a tax increase and we will continue putting residents’ needs first.”

The event also provided a platform to address some of the growing divisions within the township. Orgen emphasized, “We all rake the same leaves, shovel the same snow and share the same love for Teaneck. Our common experiences should be the foundation for a more unified community.”

Board of Education candidate Kevin Gibbs also lent his support, echoing the call for unity and collaboration to benefit Teaneck’s public schools. “Together, we can create an environment where every child and resident thrives,” Gibbs stated.

The event was made lively by an enthusiastic group of hosts, including Avi Berliner, Deputy Mayor Elie Y. Katz, Dre Perrin, Nate Briggs, Emanuel Klein, Yitz Stern, Darryl Greene, Tony Parker, Jacqueline Wilson and Coach Cekuan James. Their energy and dedication fostered a warm and welcoming atmosphere that embodied the theme of unity in diversity.

The Golden Grill Diner, known for its welcoming ambiance, provided the perfect setting for residents to connect and share ideas. The diner’s commitment to the community mirrors the vision of a more inclusive and collaborative Teaneck, making it a fitting venue for this event.
