Devorah Kigel will offer a shiur at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, as part of the Beth Aaron Sisterhood’s Rosh Chodesh Adar celebration. Her topic will be “How to Become a Queen in Your Home: Lessons Learned From the Three Women in the Purim Story.”
Devorah Kigel is a well-known dating and marriage coach. She holds a BA from Hamilton College, where she majored in French and minored in women’s studies, and an MA in French from Middlebury College. She spent more than two years living in Paris and wrote her master’s thesis on anti-Semitism in France. She then worked for various New York City Jewish organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League, Hadassah and the Jewish Renaissance Center. After spending some time in Israel at the Neve Yerushalayim seminary, she married, started a family and has been teaching classes on Judaism for women since 2001. In addition to frequent speaking engagements, Devorah prepares brides for marriage (as a kallah teacher), works as a dating and marriage coach, teaches monthly marriage enhancement classes (Shalom Bayit) in four New York City-area communities and hosts Shabbat guests every week. Devorah’s husband, Reuven, is director of campus outreach for EMET and runs programs on seven different New York City campuses. The Kigels have four children.
