Masa Israel Journey Gap Year Fairs Illuminate Opportunities in Israel for North American Jews

(Courtesy of Masa Israel) Masa Israel Journey is leading a national tour of seven U.S. cities to connect outgoing high school students to educational, immersive gap year programs in Israel. Masa’s 2019 Gap Year Fair tour will engage communities in Boston; Rockville, Maryland; Livingston; Long Island, New York; Chicago; Miami; and Los Angeles.

Each year Masa welcomes hundreds of North American Jews into its gap year programs. During their year abroad, participants deepen their connection with the land and people of Israel as they pursue their personal and professional passions in ways only possible in the Jewish state. Students enrolled in programs like BIG IDEA Gap Year and Torah Tech explore hi-tech and entrepreneurship in the Silicon Valley of the Middle East. College-bound students gain highly coveted professional experiences by quickly gaining significant responsibility in Israeli companies.

Masa Israel Journey will hold a Gap Year Fair on Monday, Nov. 4, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy. At the Gap Year Fair, students and their parents will hear from Masa’s gap year experts about the wide range of programs for them to embark on after high school graduation. Attendees are eligible for an exclusive raffle with a grand prize of $1,000 toward a flight to Israel.

“A Masa Gap Year provides students with unmatched opportunities to grow personally as well as professionally in a country that has deep personal significance,” said Masa’s North American COO, Meara Ashtivker. “Our alumni return home with unique experiences that make them better students, more successful employees and empowered Jewish leaders.”

Students and their parents consistently report on the success of the gap year programs and testify on the profound impact in has on their lives.

“Masa Israel Journey took my daughter’s passion for and knowledge about Israel to the next level, and gave her unique leadership and professional skills that will be invaluable to her in college and beyond,” said Dave Gordon, a father of a recent Masa Gap Year alumna.
