Yavneh Academy first grade mathematicians and special guests enjoyed an evening of hands-on, fun math activities. Activities included calculating the distance of their paper airplanes’ flight path, skip-counting through a hopscotch board, guesstimating quantities and playing with patterns. Yavneh’s Math Counts program reminded everyone that math is embedded in everything and can be appreciated in exciting and engaging ways. Mazal tov to the guesstimation winner whose guess was one number away from the actual number of dreidels in the guesstimation jar.
