Referencing Elizabeth Kratz’s article, “Fulop’s Letter to NJ Jewish Community Falls Flat on Voters, Community Advocates” (May 15, 2025), regarding Mayor Steven Fulop’s position on the IHRA definition of antisemitism. For the record, I am the daughter of Holocaust survivors, born in a DP camp in Germany. His position on the subject is irrelevant in my consideration about who to support for the Democratic nomination for governor of New Jersey. What is important to me, among a number of issues, is his position on property tax reform, crime and perhaps his position on expanding and creating metrics for gauging the effectiveness of Holocaust education in the state.
What matters to me are concrete steps to combat antisemitism, not definitions. What I see in Mayor Fulop’s platform are concrete steps to address New Jersey problems. That’s why I believe he deserves the nomination and ultimately deserves to be elected governor of New Jersey.
