MDS early childhood students boarded the MDS Jet to Israel on Yom Ha’Atzmaut, after receiving their passports, stamping their boarding passes and collecting shekalim. They watched the El Al in-flight safety video before landing in beautiful Eretz Yisrael. Each group followed an itinerary that took them to the Kotel in Jerusalem where they were able to place notes in the wall and give tzedaka. At the Kibbutz Mesilot dairy farms, students milked a cow, rode either tractors or inflatable farm animals. They participated in basic army training on an obstacle course using hoops, scooters and big blue blocks; went fishing at the Kineret; and searched for seashells in the sand. At the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv, students purchase souvenirs and Israeli snacks. The festivities concluded with a Yom Ha’Atzmaut birthday party with cake, of course!
