My name is Jennifer Levy, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Teaneck Board of Education. As a longtime Teaneck resident with over 20 years of experience in education and law, I can bring a unique perspective to our board of education. I have served as a public school teacher, a day school general studies principal, and now a practicing attorney in Passaic and Bergen counties. As a parent of a child who graduated from Lowell Elementary School and attended Benjamin Franklin Middle School, I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student in our district receives the support and education they deserve.
My platform is built on three key pillars: Kids, Community and Transparency. I am dedicated to making our schools exemplary by lifting all students to their highest potential. I will work to ensure that our board and administration make clear, financially sound decisions that benefit every student. We need to be transparent in the decisions made and justify that all decisions we make directly support student learning. By advocating for smaller class sizes, improving literacy and numeracy, and upgrading facilities, I aim to create an environment where every child can thrive. Transparency is not just a buzzword, it’s a commitment. I will push for open communication and greater involvement from parents and educators in decision-making processes.
In addition to these goals, I am committed to ensuring that our schools are equipped with the resources necessary to support both academic and extracurricular activities. I believe in fostering an inclusive environment where every student, regardless of their background or abilities, has access to quality education and opportunities for personal growth. By promoting community engagement and celebrating Teaneck’s rich diversity, we can build a stronger, more united community that supports our students’ success.
