Jewish Young Community (JYC) – Morris County Area is a Jewish young adult organization based in Northern New Jersey. It provides a welcoming environment where individuals and couples of all denominations and observance levels can get together to make meaningful Jewish connections.
JYC offers a community for young professionals and graduate students in New Jersey to make friends, engage in meaningful prayer, celebrate our traditions and culture, and connect with the larger Jewish community.
The group offers many ways to enrich their participants’ Jewish lives through social activities such as Shabbat dinners, baking events, wine tastings, as well as social action events. They also enjoy hikes, trivia nights, meetups at local venues, and much more.
JYC is a project of Morristown Jewish Center (MJCBY) and meets there regularly as MJCBY is centrally located to many of its participants, who hail from Morris, Essex, Somerset, Passaic, Bergen and Union counties. While MJCBY is a Conservative congregation, its JYC branch is open to all and membership is not required. JYC’s mission is to help their attendees connect to Judaism meaningfully and joyfully, and to provide a space and community for young Jewish adults to gather, connect and have fun.
