How does one live in a city that experiences everything from terrorist attacks to demonstrations against compulsory military service, from labor walkouts to illegal immigrant protests? That is what Jerusalemites often deal with on a daily basis. How are their daily lives affected? What keeps them in Jerusalem?

Amit Stern is an IDF veteran, educator, youth movement leader, attorney and Community shaliach (emissary) for Greater MetroWest Federation in partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel. He will return to his home in Jerusalem with his wife and 2-year-old twins when his term is completed. Amit will reflect on his experiences as a Jerusalemite, share his insights on its past, present and future, and describe places most special to him.

This talk will be on Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m. at Congregation Beth Israel, 18 Shalom Way, Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Open to the public. Light refreshments provided. A donation of $5 is suggested.
