This week’s spotlight game takes us to the Fleman Gymnasium at the Rosenbaum Yeshiva of New Jersey. Two of the top teams in the third/fourth grade division went head to head as the Monstars faced Approved Funding.
The Monstars got the action started with four quick points a piece from Noam Grossman and Saadya Schulder, as they finished the first quarter up 12 -9. Approved answered back in the second quarter when Rafi Karasick scored 13 of his game high 28 points, but when the half ended the Monstars were still hanging to a 27-22 lead.
The second half was a repeat of the first with Noam Grossman leading the Monstars charge while scoring a team high 26 points. Approved Funding continued to chip away at the lead with 10 points from Shlomo Wenger and a game winning free throw from Karasick to seal the victory.
