Inspired by team-created motivational art posters, Team Washington Ave Pediatrics was victorious this past Sunday in a thrilling overtime game against a tough Embroidme team. The Embroiderme girls played a great game, led by Gavriella Adler and her game high 10 points (scoring in each quarter). The Washington Ave Pediatrics team was led by Eliana Friedman, who hit the game winner in overtime. Although she is the scoring leader, Friedman plays very unselfish ball and always looks to get her teammates involved. It was truly a complete team effort. Yakeira Fleischman played her usual tenacious all-court defense, racking up many steals and hitting a nice shot. PG Molly Pearlman ran the offense to perfection and led in assists, distributing the ball to everyone. Tova Rotblatt was able to control the paint, altering many shots and getting timely rebounds. Gabriella Davidovitch and Olivia Nadel played great defense, making it difficult for the other team to score. Hannah Tolinsky stepped up big time, making a crucial basket and making excellent passes. Shira Stavsky played great on defense and unselfishly on offense, always looking to pass to her open teammates. Rivky Geffner handled the ball really well, made strong passes and also played aggressively tough defense. The coaches are very proud of the entire team for their effort, unselfishness and, most importantly, great sportsmanship.

As the girl’s season approaches midseason, registration is open for the 2016-17 MGBL Boys’ league.
