This week’s spotlight game takes us back to Yeshivat Ben Porat Yosef where LYNLY Insurance faced off against team Jason M. Suss D.M.D. LYNLY Insurance took the early lead on the shoulders of Rebecca Sussman’s post play, but Jason M. Suss D.M.D went on a nice run in the second quarter, ignited by a huge 3-pointer from Leah Suss and further fueled by six of Eva Rothchild’s game high 14 points. LYNLY Insurance was not going down without a fight; Sarah Motechin, Yakira Linzer and Amanda Pomerantz dominated the boards and spurred a run of their own. When the buzzer sounded at the end of the half it was all tied up 15-15.
The third and fourth quarters were a defensive battle with LYNLY Insurance scoring only twice, while Jason M. Suss D.M.D was only able to record 11 points of their own. In the fifth LYNLY stepped it up a notch with key baskets form Ella Ashendorf, Motechin and Sussman. When the final buzzer sounded, LYNLY Insurance found themselves on the long side of a thrilling 35-34 game.
