This week MGBL concluded the regular season for the boys high school league. On Saturday night, the Aamatex Powerwashing team continued their strong play coming back from a seven point deficit to win by nine. Chosen Healthcare won getting 36 points from Akiva Feit. Avi Proctor contributed 34 for the Globetrotters in their win. Chai Lifeline won again to clinch the #1 seed heading into the playoffs.
On Sunday, Aamatex Powerwashing defeated Akari Therapeutics Plc led by Alex Ostrin’s 27 points. Duff & Phelps won led by Eitan Pfeiffer’s 35 points who is showing no lingering effects from his hand injury. Phil Green Cardiology won with strong efforts from Yoni Berg and Yehuda Spivak (18 points each). But the game of the day, and possibly the season, was the win by The Jewish Link of New Jersey team. They fell behind early and trailed the Chosen Healthcare team by 15 at the half. That lead extended to 24 in the second half. Then their defense woke up along with a shooting touch. Netanel Eckman hit three 3-pointers (13 points), Billy Krause got hot and scored 12 of his 14 points in the half and Yonah Hook grabbed some key offensive rebounds to go with 10 points. Harry and Josh Orlinsky hit six 3-pointers of their own in defeat and it was “raining 3’s” throughout the game (and outside). It was an exciting end to a very competitive season and the playoffs will likely be no different.
