The game of the day took place in the 7/8 division, as Cellectar Biosciences, Inc. defeated Sharing Seats 35-31, in a game that was close throughout. In the first half, Sharing Seats was led by Jackie Carter’s eight points and Sienna Dube’s seven points. Cellectar was led by Samatha Pruzanky’s seven points with Leila Goldstein adding a 3 pointer. At the half, Sharing Seats led 15-11. In the third period, Cellectar’s defense picked up and held Sharing Seats to just three points while scoring seven, including a key basket by Danielle Beckoff to end the third tied at 18. The pace picked up in the fourth period with Carter adding four more and Atara Pickett adding two. For Cellectar, Pruzansky continued scoring, adding four more but it was her defense, shot blocking and rebounding that was key. In the final period Dube scored four points and Jenna Solomon hit a key basket, but Goldstein and Beckoff scored three and two points respectively, while Pruzansky took control adding six more points for game high 20 as Cellectar improved to 2-0.
