The 2020 MGBL boys season kicked off this weekend. With almost 500 kids on 48 teams playing over the course of Saturday night and Sunday, the action was non-stop. Week one saw some players get out to hot starts this season. Dovid Last led all second graders in scoring with 14 points in a high scoring match-up between Greystone & Co. and Bergen Veterinary Hospital that ended in a 22-22 tie!
Meanwhile, over in the big gym, the third and fourth grade division saw a couple of all star performances from EJ’s Place’s Shai Bickel and Camp Shalom’s Shane Feit. Bickel scored 26 points to lead his team to victory over Toppan Merrill, however, even with Feit’s 22 points, his team still fell to Glatt Express & Lazy Bean Cafe who was led in scoring by Zachary Nelson and Benjamin Galla.
The league will be taking a two week hiatus during yeshiva break, but be sure to check back in to the MGBL Minute when we return on the weekend of February first and second.
