When The Jewish Link reported on Middlesex County’s Jewish Business Network on February 18, 2021, this project of the Chabad of South Brunswick was meeting on Zoom and thriving despite the lack of in-person contact due to the pandemic. Earlier this month we decided to check back and see how the only continuously running monthly Jewish networking group in the area was doing.

Since the return to in-person meetings about a year and a half ago, the Middlesex County JBN group has maintained its strength, attracting an average of 15-20 people per monthly meeting. They convene at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #133 building on Cranbury Road in East Brunswick at 7:30 a.m. and finish by 9 a.m. Meetings consist of one-minute summaries of their business by each attendee, a dvar Torah by Rabbi Levi Azimov of Chabad, and then a 10-minute presentation by one of the attending business members. At the July 13 meeting I attended, the presenter was Pamela Avraham of Urbach & Avraham, CPAs in Edison, who spoke to the group about retirement plans.

Other professionals at the meeting included Dr. Ken Freedman, a chiropractor; Rafi Footerman, a home inspector; Mason Resnick, a professional photographer; Gabriella Strich, a partner in a law and mediation office; Al Woller, a financial adviser; Randy Cohen, a real estate appraiser; Mark Jiorle, a realtor with ReMax, as well as a partner in a moving company; a public adjuster/consumer advocate; a vacation planner; a communications consultant; a financial planner; and a financial adviser.
