November 4, 2013 – New York, NY – Migdal Ohr, Israel’s premier agency for underprivileged, orphaned, abused and new immigrant children, will hold its Annual Gala on Monday, December 9th at Espace in New York City.  This year’s event—our largest annual fundraiser—will honor distinguished supporters who have contributed significantly to the success of the organization over its forty year history.

Migdal Ohr is proud to recognize our “Guests of Honor” Henry & Rifkie Bergman of Brooklyn, New York and David & Deborah Kahn of Teaneck, New Jersey for their unwavering dedication and commitment to Migdal Ohr’s children-in-need.

The evening will pay tribute to these honorees and will also include a special program featuring Migdal Ohr’s Founder and Dean and 2004 Israel Prize winner, Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman.

This year’s Gala co-chairs include Jordana and Adam Grunfeld of New York City and Cherie and Dr. Steven Starkman of Englewood, New Jersey.

Founded over 40 years ago, Migdal Ohr is one of Israel’s largest non-profit organizations for children at risk.  Serving over 10,000 children and young adults across Israel annually through its 160 youth clubs and three main campuses, Migdal Ohr—which translates to Tower of Light in English—provides free essential services including education, housing, clothing and food, medical care and counseling.  Migdal Ohr also organizes the distribution of 25,000 food packages to needy families with children for the Passover and Rosh Hashanah holidays.
