December 1 marked the end of another wonderful season of Mitch Gross Girls Basketball. The Mitch Gross Basketball League (MGBL) is a rec league that was set up some six years ago to commemorate a beloved member of our community that was taken from us at a young age. MGBL is a high caliber recreational league that teaches basketball skills along with teamwork and interpersonal skills.
The success of the league is a result of much hard work by many people, each and every one a vital component. MGBL would like to thank: the girls for coming and working hard every week; the parents, grandparents, siblings and friends for cheering the girls on; the referees for the great (and difficult) job they do; the SPONSORS—we couldn’t do it without you (THANKS!!!!!) and,
LAST BUT NOT LEAST—the amazing VOLUNTEER COACHES who give of their time each weekend to teach the girls and have helped each of them improve their skills, understanding of the game, sportsmanship, teamwork and, of course, how to have a good time, win or lose.
One of the MGBL commissioners told the JLBC, “It is truly a pleasure to see how far these girls have progressed over the course of the season, Mitch Gross, a’’h, would be very proud of this league that is carrying on his name and legacy.”
