Jeffrey S. Aronoff, MD, FACS, FSCRS, Joins St. Mary’s General Hospital

(Courtesy of St. Mary’s General Hospital) St. Mary’s General Hospital is proud to announce that Jeffrey S. Aronoff, MD, FACS, FSCRS is now affiliated with the hospital, specializing in comprehensive colorectal and anorectal care. He has an office in Manhattan, where he is affiliated with Lennox Hill Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center, and recently opened another office on Clifton Ave. in Clifton, New Jersey. Dr. Aronoff is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons. He received an undergraduate degree at Rutgers University, post-graduate degree at Georgetown University and his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

“Last week we had an on-boarding meeting with Dr. Aronoff,” said George Matyjewicz, PhD, community liaison. “We met with Ed Condit, CEO; Karin Stalter, CNO; other doctors; and key players from the surgery and admitting departments to discuss Dr. Aronoff’s requirements and how we can help him perform surgeries at St. Mary’s General.”

“I evaluate patients who seek consultation for both diagnostic and therapeutic management of colorectal disorders,” said Dr. Aronoff. “These include both benign and malignant diseases of the colon, rectum and anus (colorectal carcinoma, diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, anal cancer, infectious and dermatologic diseases of the anorectum). I have a special interest in dysmotility and have an expertise in open, laparoscopic and robotic management of benign and malignant disease of the colon and rectum.”

Dr. Aronoff has been the recipient on numerous awards over the year. Vitals1, the leading online physician information and ratings resource, has given Dr. Aronoff a Patients’ Choice Award for eight years, the Compassionate Doctor Recognition for nine years, a Top Colon & Rectal Surgeon recognition for 2019/2020 and the Patients’ Choice Award—Five-Year Honoree, which is a recognition granted only to those doctors whose ratings have reflected excellence in care for five years in a row. Only 1% of all doctors in the United States are bestowed this honor by their patients. Ratings and reviews for the awards depend on various components of care including bedside manner, follow-up care, ease of appointment setting, courtesy of office staff and overall appointment experience.

Only doctors who received top ratings and reviews by their patients are awarded Vitals’ Patients’ Choice Award. With over 8 million ratings and reviews, Vitals has the largest collection of crowd-sourced data on doctors online. While other quality metrics are important to consider, patient ratings and reviews help identify doctors committed to providing skilled and compassionate care. Those are qualities that can’t be overlooked: A strong doctor-patient relationship leads to better compliance with care regimes, which impacts patient health.

“Dr. Aronoff’s credentials and patient satisfaction fit in with our environment at St. Mary’s General Hospital,” said Karin Stalter, RN, MSN, CNL, OCN, chief nursing officer. “As evidenced by our many awards over the years, we focus on quality service and patient safety. It is nice to see a doctor whose focus is like ours, and we welcome him.”

St. Mary’s General Hospital is nationally recognized and locally preferred among the top hospitals in America for health, quality and patient safety! St. Mary’s General is a proud member of Prime Healthcare, which has more Patient Safety Excellence Award recipients for five consecutive years (2016-2020) than any other health system in the country.
