Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

I have the pleasure, one morning each week, to work in Brooklyn. I drive early to beat the traffic, earning myself a very special few hours of early morning quiet when I arrive in Midwood. I usually park just in time to daven and grab a fresh hot bagel from Pressers Kosher Bagels and Bakery on Avenue M. I’ll typically opt for a bagel with cream cheese for $3 or, if I really feel like splurging, a bagel with tuna for $5.25. I looked up the prices at a local bagel place and saw that the same items cost $4.75 (58% more) and $10.95 (108.57% more) in Teaneck. I guess my question to the proprietors of this local establishment is: Why? And to my fellow Bergen County residents who make up their primary customer base: Why do we put up with this?
