Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

I am the child of Holocaust survivors. My parents came to this country after the war and were sent to Ellis island to be vetted. They came with a 3-year-old child and maybe $15. There were no phone prompts like dial one for English or two for Yiddish. They had to quickly learn English and find work. My father worked as a barber by day and my mother worked in a bakery at night. I truly understand the need for people from countries where their lives are brutal and they have little advantages to better themselves. They need to be allowed to enter legally so they can be vetted properly. My parents were checked for tuberculosis and any contagious diseases they might bring into the country. When illegals pour in they are not checked, they don’t have to wear masks, and even if a tiny percentage are bringing drugs into this country or are human traffickers that is enough to destroy many innocent lives.

Since the United States has opened the doors to so many millions of people from all over it is impacting the schools, hospitals and unfortunately, the very safety of our citizens. Drugs such as Fentanyl are now killing thousands of Americans. Illegals are paying exorbitant prices to Mexican cartels to be brought over to our country. Too many of them die on the way because of a lack of safety or care as to how they are brought in. Yes, I agree we should do chesed for the underprivileged, unwelcome and hungry. Let it be done the right way.

Lincoln said that “A house divided cannot stand.” We, right now as a Jewish nation, are very divided. We speak out against a former president that was the only president who in his time

in office went to pay respect to the Wailing Wall. Many presidents promised to move the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem, only Trump kept that promise. Trump also publicly gave permission to Israel to occupy and build any present areas it has annexed. Not just for Israel, but not much is said about what his time in office has made America a better place to live in. From the economy, to strengthening our military, to give money to Black colleges so they can be successful. I could go on and on. Is Trump perfect? No human is. Let us not forget what he did and tried to do for all of us.

God bless America.
