Linking Northern and Central NJ, Bronx, Manhattan, Westchester and CT

On Monday, January 5th, the (6-0) Moriah 7th grade boys’ basketball team defeated the (0-6) Bi-Cultural Day School (BCDS) in Stamford, Connecticut. Moriah got its tempo going early as Ethan Schechter opened up the game with the first 2 buckets, each assisted by Rafi Lewis. By the end of the 1st quarter, the game seemed to be a blowout, with Moriah leading 19-2.

Moriah’s Jon Comet continued the momentum for Moriah as he scored 2 of the first 3 shots in the 2nd quarter. Fortunately for BCDS, their two big men/ twin towers scored the next 16 consecutive points. Going into the half, what seemed to be a blowout was now a close game with the score 25-18.

In the beginning of the 2nd half, Moriah’s starters broke the game apart with the help of Lewis’ fast legs and fast break layups. Lewis led Moriah with 10 points followed by Isaac Horowitz’s 8 points.
