Since the beginning of Chodesh Adar, the Purim spirit has been in the air in Moriah lower school. Throughout the weeks leading up to Purim, students wore silly glasses, hilarious hats and crazy hair, and danced to Purim music that was played throughout the halls at random times of day. Bnot sherut also provided daily video links to popular Israeli childrens’ songs for students to learn and enjoy. On the Friday before Purim, costume-clad students competed in Israeli-story themed races and enjoyed a cool treat at Moriah’s very own cafe “Armona.” As a final touch of Adar fun, on Shushan Purim the entire lower school banged, boomed and whacked together as they participated in a special “boom-whackers” program, creating a beautiful rhythm of unity and joy.
