This week in art. Moriah introduced the fifth grade students to graffiti art. The students learned that graffiti is built on collaboration. An artist usually works on their own but also works in groups. These groups are sometimes referred to as collectives. The art teacher ran a long paper on the wall and let the students draw and design to create their own personal pieces that will connect to each other. The students drew first with pencils, and when they felt comfortable with their drawing then they went over it with sharpies and colors. They had so much fun creating their own graffiti words, lines, shapes and designs. They really thought out of the box!
