Moriah Early Childhood and Lower School Celebrate Chanukah

When Chanukah comes around the excitement doesn’t stop at Moriah! Every day of Chanukah was jam-packed with activities; it was hard to keep track of everything!

On each day of Chanukah the early childhood hosted a Chanukah celebration for one of their classes. Parents, grandparents and friends enjoyed musical numbers and Chanukah presentations from the children. The celebrations ended with art projects and doughnut/cookie decorating. The younger students enjoyed learning everything about the holiday and creating special Chanukah projects like building their own chanukiot!

On Tuesday, the fifth graders hosted a Chanukah carnival for grades one through four. The fifth graders manned the Chanukah-themed booths, giving the younger students a chance to win cool prizes. On Wednesday, the lower schoolers participated in Chanukah relay races. The students were divided into teams and competed in wacky games! On Thursday the assistant teachers ran the annual Cafe Chanukah with fun activities and games completely in Ivrit! The students used their impressive Ivrit skills to complete puzzles and challenges. On Thursday, the students were surprised with carnival snacks during lunch!

The highlight of the week was the school-wide concert by Uri Davidi. Davidi brought the house down with his infectious charisma while the students danced hard with incredible ruach!
