In conjunction with Groundhog Day The Moriah School kindergarten students began a marvelous science unit on shadows. Through discussion, observation and experimentation, they discovered that in order for there to be a shadow, there must be light and an object. They experimented with many objects brought in by the teachers. The students were shadow detectives! They spoke about different objects and predicted if each one would cast a shadow. They used their shadow knowledge to make their predictions. After their predictions were made, they tested their objects to see if they were right. The students became great shadow detectives.
