The Moriah early childhood has been discussing the importance of good hygiene to keep healthy. Students discussed the need to wash hands especially front, back and between theur fingers. The children also learned to cover a cough or sneeze with their hand or elbow. February is dental health month, the perfect time to talk about keeping teeth healthy as well.
The children understand that if food particles are left on teeth, especially sugary ones, bacteria eats away at the food, causing cavities. It is so important to carefully remove the food particles by brushing and flossing, to keep teeth healthy!
Last Thursday, students enjoyed a visit from Dr. Eytan Chen. He shared lots of important information, and even made them laugh, as his stuffed animal “Betsy” rinsed and “sprayed” the kids with water. As a follow up to our discussion, each child received a dental health kit. This kit contains a toothbrush, a toothpaste sample, and a sticker to encourage good dental health. Happy brushing!
