The Moriah eight grade girls were inspired by the deeper meanings and messages contained in the bracha of Asher Yatzar, and decided to share that inspiration. They came up with ideas to spread awareness of the importance of reciting this bracha multiple times daily, and ways to remind others to get in the habit. They hung eye-catching posters outside each of the bathrooms in school, and prepared leaflets to put on every windshield in the Moriah parking lot. Many students agreed that the most interesting thing they learned about the bracha is that it isn’t just a “bathroom bracha.” This bracha reminds us to appreciate all of our inner systems (circulatory, respiratory…). We as human beings acknowledge that Hashem keeps these miracles going for us while we go about our day-to-day lives completely unaware. The good news is that now Moriah students are more aware!
