One element of the “Names, Not Numbers©” program is teaching the Moriah eighth grade students the art of conducting a proper interview. Jonah Kaplan, ABC news investigative reporter, visited Moriah and addressed the eighth graders last week. He highlighted the skills associated with interview preparation, questioning and patience needed while waiting for an answer. He also addressed the issue of adjusting questions based on an unanticipated or deeply emotional response. English Department Chair Mrs. Schwartz, “Names, Not Numbers©” coordinator Abby Herschmann and the parent mentors look forward to preparing the eighth graders for their Holocaust survivors’ interviews which will occur in early January.
