The Moriah eighth graders had an amazing trip to Washington D.C. Highlights of the trip include visiting the White House, touring the Holocaust Museum and exploring the Newseum. The students were even able to meet with Senator Lee (R-UT) at the capital. The students also enjoyed visiting several of the monuments, such as the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and the Korean War Veterans Memorial. They also got to relax during a few rounds of bowling and an afternoon of boating. After spending the year learning about the structure and creation of the government and about people who fought for civil rights, it was a meaningful culmination to their studies. The students all had a blast!
