Moriah Fifth Grade Participates in 1,100 Mezuzot Project for Pittsburgh

After the horrific tragedy in Pittsburgh, Moriah’s Morah Odelia Danishefsky (lower school principal) discovered the 1,100 mezuzah campaign organized by Rabbi Shapiro of Beit Chabad Pittsburgh. The thought behind the campaign is to spread the light of Judaism by affixing 100 mezuzot in the Pittsburgh community in memory of each life lost. Morah Odelia shared her find with Morah Gila as a unique opportunity for her art class. When Morah Gila approached the fifth grade with this project they were eager to get involved. The students displayed their deep caring for their fellow Jews in distress. This project helped them connect to the events on an emotional level by coming together as one and contributing to a community in need. Rabbi Shapiro and Beit Chabad have expressed their deep appreciation of Morah Gila and the entire fifth grade for their commitment to the project. Thanks to their hard work, Moriah is donating 101 mezuzot to help spread the light of positivity in Pittsburgh. Together we stand—am Yisrael chai!
