As Tu B’Shevat approached, the K-Galil children were excited to learn about plants and how they grow. They know that trees are the largest type of plant and that most common plants develop from seeds. In order to understand this better firsthand, they studied the life cycle of the bean plant. Then, each child gently placed some beans (seeds) on soft cotton and added water. The beans have already started to soften. The children look forward to observing the process of germination as the seeds open, the roots and seedlings emerge, and bean sprouts form.
