In celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Moriah kindergarten students began to learn a little about the life of this famous, brave and forward-thinking American. The children understand that Dr. King believed in equality and treating all people fairly, regardless of external differences. They also learned that he wanted to implement changes in peaceful ways. As an extension of these lessons, the children brainstormed ways in which they could show respect to others, throughout their day, at work and at play.
