As the season progresses, The Moriah School kindergarten students took advantage of a dry fall day, and visited the red-fruited dogwood tree which they have “adopted.” This small, sweet tree stands in the front of the school, across the driveway. They started observing this tree in the beginning of the year; their plan was to visit once or twice each season. The students discussed the seasonal developments, wrote their observations as well as made sketches of what they saw. They were excited to note some changes: the leaves were changing color, berries were on the branches and some of the leaves had already fallen. They wondered what their tree will look like next time they visit!
