This past week, the Moriah kindergartens launched a new buddy program with the fifth grade. Each child is paired with a buddy for the entire school year. In their first meeting, the partners discussed with each other what things they are thankful for, and then wrote their thoughts on feather shaped papers, which they then attached to “Thankful Mr. Turkey.” The children then worked on beading Native American style necklaces. The smiles on everyone’s faces were clear indications that this was a mutually enjoyed activity, and they are looking forward to their next meeting.
