The Moriah lower school went all out in their celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut this year. From the moment that students entered the building, the creative decor made them feel as if they had stepped onto “Shvil Yisrael,” a theme that would follow them throughout the day, as they participated in activities that gave them a sense of various places throughout the length and breadth of the land of Israel. The day began with a beautiful daglanut presentation, performed by the entire fifth grade as the whole school gathered to watch..As soon as the performance ended the classes dispersed and headed to their various activities. From poster-size puzzles to team building activities with the shlichot, shivat haminim art projects with Morah Gila to Israel themed class challenges, the children were busy all day, engaged in fun and meaningful programs. The day culminated in a united recitation of Hallel, complete with dancing and singing, Divrei Torah and surprise video presentations. What a perfect way to celebrate and give thanks to Hashem for the gift of Medinat Yisrael!
