The Moriah middle school excitedly joined together at lunch last week to participate in sheva brachot for beloved Tanach teacher Morah Elisheva, and her chatan, Moshe Dinter.
The Kukin Auditorium was set with colorfully covered round tables and decorated with balloons in honor of the occasion. The girls eagerly anticipated Morah Elisheva’s arrival, and greeted her with applause and shrieks of joy, immediately pulling her into a dance circle as Rabbi Nadata played the keyboard and the boys and rebbeim danced with the chatan, adding a further dimension of simcha to the gathering.
Morah Elisheva and Moshe were accompanied by Elisheva’s father, Rabbi Mordechai Feuerstein, and by former Moriah parent Mrs. Aviva Feldman, a relative of the Feuerstein family.
Endless rounds of dancing with the chatan and kallah were followed by divrei Torah by Rabbi Alter and by seventh graders Eliana Bane and Shira Cohen, as well as a delicious ice cream dessert for all. The middle school teachers presented Morah Elisheva and Moshe with a beautiful birkat habayit paper cut, and all of the middle school rebbeim participated in the sheva brachot.
Morah Elisheva’s simcha became a valuable teaching opportunity about the significance of this most meaningful mitzvah and created a Moriah memory that will be cherished by students for years to come.
