Congratulations to the Torah Bowl middle school girls team for a great Torah Bowl season, and congratulations to the boys team for winning their division playoffs at Moriah this week. The teams studied parshiyot Mikeitz, Vayigash and Vayechi with Rashi’s commentary for the meet. The boys, who were in third place in their division entering the playoffs, were led by captains Jonah Knoll and Dovid Ratzersdorfer, and defeated Westchester Day School, Ashar and RYNJ to advance to the regional championship. In the division finals, against RYNJ, which was best out of three, Moriah won the first game and RYNJ won the second game. After being down early in the third game, Moriah came back in an exciting finish to beat RYNJ 15 to 12 in the final round. They now advance to the championship round where they will be responsible for studying the entirety of sefer Bereishit with Rashi’s commentary. The match will be held in April.
