Moriah’s pre-k began their week learning all about the sevivon! Antiochus said that the Jewish children could not study Torah. The Jewish people had to find a way to learn Torah without getting caught. When the children were studying and would hear Antiochus’ army coming, they would quickly take out their dreidels and pretend to be playing a game. The children play with dreidels today to remember what the Jewish children had to do in order to learn Torah in the time of Antiochus.
The pre-k students played a fun math game. They each took turns spinning the dreidels and whichever letter it would land on, they would color in that letter’s box on their dreidel graph paper. At the end of the game they counted how many boxes each letter had, which is how many times that letter was spun! It was so much fun!
