In last week’s parsha, Parashat Vayigash, the pre-k students learned that Asher’s daughter, Serach, played the harp when telling Ya’akov the good news that Yosef is alive. They looked at many different pictures of instruments and listened to each sound that they make. The children listened to cymbals, a triangle, a tambourine, rhythm sticks, bells and maracas. They then played a game, by using just their ears, they were able to identify each instrument by its sound. The children had a chance to make their own mini harps using small plastic containers wrapped with rubber bands. It was so much fun!
