This week, in conjunction with Yom HaShoah, Moriah’s K-Silver began discussing the concept of a “memory.” Students discussed and defined the word, “memory” and listed various types of memories. The list included sad, happy, angry, excited and scary types of memories. They discussed that sometimes a song, a smell or even a food can trigger a memory. After this discussion, the children shared various memories with each other in our “sharing circle.” They also used a “memory bag” that contained various items to trigger our memories. Some of these items were a tennis ball, a feather, wrapping paper and a box. These items triggered wonderful memories from the children and their memories were shared with the class.
K-Silver then authored their own “Pesach Memory” book. The children wrote about their many favorite Pesach memories that they had just experienced.
