In conjunction with cross-curricular units on energy and reading ”The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” (young readers edition) by William Kamkwamba in science and English class, Moriah’s eighth graders visited the Science Barge in Yonkers to continue studying electrical circuits and conductivity. The Science Barge, a farm floating on the Hudson River, also gave students a hands-on experience learning about renewable energy, composting, hydroponics and sustainability. In rain or shine, Moriah students appreciated the opportunity to see concepts from their class books come alive!
