During a time when so many people are reaching out for help, The Moriah School has stepped up to answer the call.
With the help of generous donations from Moriah families, the school has employed its caterer, Five Star Caterers, to cook and prepare meals for those in need within the greater Englewood community. This initiative allows those who work in the school’s kitchen, who would have otherwise lost their job due to the school’s closure, to continue to be employed.
“At this difficult time, when so many people are suffering it has been inspiring to see how our community wants to help each other in all types of substantive ways” said Rabbi Daniel Alter, head of school. ‘This initiative is one of the many ways that our school community is looking to help and support those in need.”
The goal of the program is to deliver 50 meals a day for the next 100 days in Englewood. Moriah is hard at work making this goal a reality, having raised more than half the $30,000 necessary.
